The following curriculum is a matrix of different courses based on how numerous personal trainers, studios and clubs use our educational materials

Please remember, there is no exact format.  The best course is the one you develop for your own specific clientele or audience.  You will, no doubt, modify and adjust this curriculum to meet your own requirements.  

NOTE:
  This course does NOT require any personal training whatsoever.  It's an educational course that can be taught anywhere... including corporations, schools, churches, community groups... etc.  Obviously, you'd want to promote your own training services.

n       Introductions, course orientation, what to expect; commitment, etc.
o        Assign class buddies 
o        Promote personal training for optimal results  (15-min) 

n       Distribute materials
o        Logging journals
o        Reference manual
o        Anatomical charts
o        Commitment Pledge
o        Menu planning software - (tutorials) (10-min)

n      Training for use of journals and menu planning software (25-min) - Use LCD projector if available - or gather group around a single computer.     (tutorials)

n      Assignments:
o       Create 7-10 menus based on individual templates/software (tutorials)
o       Read: Chapters (1) Basic Physiology (pdf) (2) Digestion

n      Q&A (10-min)

n      Review:
o       Menus (tutorials)
o       Journals - Exercise / Nutrition
o       Validate commitments (20-min)

n      Review and quiz (1) Basic Physiology (Chapter 1 answers) (2) Digestion (Chapter 2 answers) (25-min)
o       Debunking commercial weight-loss plans
o       Debunking magic pills
o       Defying physiology – consequences immune system, hormonal balance

n      Q & A on topics or course (10-min)

n      Assignments:
o       Read: Chapters (3) Carbohydrate, (4) Protein, (5) Fat
o       Fine tune menus – proteins, carbs, fat: quality

n      Review
o       Menus - (tutorials)
o       Journals - Exercise / Nutrition
o       Best handwriting awards (hot tips) (15-min)

o       Read: Chapters: (6) Aerobic Activity, (7) Anaerobic Activity

n      Weigh-in / Body-fat evaluations (20-min)
o       Optimal caloric adjustments if required
o       Beware of decrease in lean mass – explain

n      Q & A on topics or course (10-min)

n      Assignments:

o       Extra Credit – Best Recipe contest under 20% fat per serving (samples welcome) (hot tips)
